You will

  • join a professional, friendly team of Teaching Fellows and Course Leaders.
  • teach undergraduate and postgraduate students who are well motivated to develop their English language and academic literacy skills.
  • conduct tutorials, attend staff meetings and standardisation sessions, assess student progress, carry out other administrative duties related to teaching, and undertake pastoral duties.

A full induction and comprehensive teaching materials will be provided, and you will work under the guidance of a Course Leader. There will also be opportunities for CPD throughout the course.

Course dates (including induction)

We are recruiting EAP teaching fellows for the course dates listed below. The dates include teacher induction days and time for assessment and reporting activity at the end of the course, which are paid and require full attendance. A pro-rata holiday entitlement is paid.

Please note applicants must be resident in the UK and available on campus for the duration of the course. Generously subsidised accommodation will be available.

10-week, Pre-sessional: 30 June – 12 September 2025
5-week, Pre-sessional:  4 August – 12 September 2025 

Please specify on your application form your first and second preference of course (10-week or 5-week). Please note that all teaching fellows will teach both English language and academic skills.

  1. You have set up a small group task (3-4 students per group) in your class and you notice one group seems to be ignoring one group member who is less confident when working in English. How would you address this?
  2. What do you believe are the two most important soft skills in the context of preparing students for their degree programmes? How do you help students develop these in your teaching sessions?
  3. A student approaches you and is worried that they cannot write the course essay without heavily using AI. What steps would you take?

<![CDATA[English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Course Leader (CC12307)]]> /jobs/rss/click.aspx?ref=CC12307 /jobs/rss/click.aspx?ref=CC12307 An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Skills Centre at the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ for an experienced EAP Course Leader to lead and develop the summer Pre-sessional programme. 

The Pre-sessional Programme prepares students for success in their degree studies through the development of academic language, and research and study skills.

You will be responsible for leading, developing and managing the pre-sessional courses, ensuring high quality teaching, successful learning outcomes, and an outstanding student experience. This role provides an exciting opportunity to use both professional expertise and creativity to develop innovative courses that support student success. 

You will:

  • be an outstanding Pre-sessional teacher with a proven record of excellence in leading and developing high-quality EAP programmes in Higher Education.
  • demonstrate highly effective management, communication, planning and team leadership skills.
  • enjoy leading teams as well as working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • be creative and pro-active with an ability to think and plan strategically as well as managing operationally. 

You should hold a Master’s degree (or higher) in Applied Linguistics/TESOL related field and/or a DELTA and have extensive experience of EAP programme leadership.

This is a full-time role, for a fixed-term period from 16 June 2025 until 12 September 2025.

The role is based on campus at the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ, and all work must be carried out within the UK, including any remote work.
